Bhutan Food and Drug Authority (BFDA) empowered by the Food Act of Bhutan, 2005 and as per the directives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests provides third-party certification services to farmers, Bhutanese industries and commerce. This to facilitate the smooth trade, gain customer confidence in safe food products and reduce the multiple conformity assessment that export commodities might have to undergo at the border.

BAFRA implement Product Certification in conformity with ISO IEC 17065:2012 to provide third party mark of Certification against Scheme 5 of ISO/IEC 17067:2013 together with ISO IEC TS 17026:2015 and Organic and BhutanGAP Certification against Scheme 6 of ISO/IEC 17067:2013 together with ISO IEC TS 17026:2015.
