The Department appraises and processes FDI projects in the country for approval. The Department also facilitates the change of location, expansion of capacity, transfer of shares, and additional activity of the FDI projects. Monitoring of the industries are also being carried out to ensure that industries comply with the FDI Policy and Regulations 2019.

The Department also facilitates the issuance of recommendations for the Investor Card and its renewal for Investors/Promoters of FDI companies. An investor card is similar to a work permit which allows an investor of the FDI Company multiple entries and exits in the country.
