The Brand Bhutan initiative was launched in February 2016 by the Department of Trade, Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Employment as part of an export development strategy. Devised to integrate Bhutan into the global economy and diversify export products, Brand Bhutan was developed as one of the key strategies to harness economic opportunities and build productive capacity to promote exports.

Brand Bhutan reflects the best of Bhutan and also believes to build and nurture partnerships in the current transformative moment of the country.  Brand Bhutan initiative is implemented through its two sectoral brands vis-à-vis Made in Bhutan and Grown in Bhutan.

How to apply for Brand Bhutan?

The Made in Bhutan and   Grown in Bhutan logo supports growers, processors and manufacturers in Bhutan by helping them to clearly identify their products as premium products which are truly Bhutanese, Happily and Sustainably Made or Grown in Bhutan.  At the same time, it provides consumers and businesses with a highly recognised and trusted symbol for genuine Bhutanese products and produces.

If an applicant wants to apply for different products, a separate application has to be filled for each product.

The Application form has to be submitted to the BRAND BHUTAN Secretariat, which is managed by the Department of Trade. The application must be accompanied by a product sample. The product samples will be returned to the applicant after the assessment is completed.
