Mentoring is a system of semi-structured guidance whereby one person shares their knowledge, skills and experiences to assist others to progress in their own lives and careers. Mentorship is a shared learning journey between a mentor, the one who guides and a mentee, the one who receives the support.
There are various benefits being involved in mentorship. Some of the reasons for requiring a mentor are to gain experience not shared in books, network opportunities, for reassurance and encouragement and to develop stronger emotional intelligence.
The mentorship program carried out by the Department includes the following sub-activities:
- One to one mentoring
- Group Mentoring services
