Coinciding with the 115th National Day celebrations, Hon’ble Tengye Lyonpo, Dasho Secretary, MoEA and the Ambassador of Bhutan to Australia, Mr. Sonam Tobgay, inaugurated the “Bhutan Store” in Perth, Australia earlier this morning.
The establishment of the CSI market outlet in Perth, Australia was initiated by the Department in collaboration with the Royal Bhutanese Embassy in Canberra, Australia.
The main objective of establishing the “Bhutan Store” is to enhance market access in the international market - one of the main barriers that hampers CSI development in the country.
The outlet will promote Bhutanese products, particularly high value niche products, and earn convertible currency, encourage CSIs to enhance value addition, upscale and improve efficiency and generate employment opportunities in the country.
The “Bhutan Store”, as the CSI outlet, will serve as one stop center for all “Made in and Grown in Bhutan products”. The store will initially target and serve the Bhutanese living in Perth, Western Australia and gradually expand its reach and presence in Australia.
The interior decor of the store is inspired by the BHUTAN BELIEVE brand philosophy. The “Bhutan Store” is located at 83B Main Street, Osbourne Park in downtown Perth, West Australia.
